Blog Tour: Darkest Before Dawn by Amelia Hutchins

Going through an apocalyptic event doesn't mean the end of the world.
My dad is a modern day Noah, you know building an ark, trying to save folks and getting my brother, and I ready for the impending end of days – whatever that means.
Nothing in his prepper manuals had us ready for what actually happened.
I had nothing to prepare me for Jaeden and Lachlan. Heck, I don’t know of any girl that would have been prepared for those two.
There was nothing to prepare us for the things that go bump in the night or zombies, although now that I think on it, zombies might have been easier to deal with than what really happened. No, an apocalyptic event is just a set-up for things in our world to be shaken AND stirred.
What will rise from the ruins remains to be seen.

Review

So I will not lie, I have never heard of this author before, but after reading the synopsis of this book I figured, hey, why not, it sounds wicked interesting and I’ll give it a go, and I also promised a review.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and REALLY got into this story. There was so many realms of emotion you went through while reading, action, suspense, humor, love, paranormal…It was bloody fantastic.

The character and suspense was so intensive for the first time in a very long time I actually wanted to skip to the end and read the last chapter, put my mind at ease and then go BACK to where I was and finish. The character development was so masterfully done they jumped out at you and allowed you to enter their world and come along with them for the story. It is an apocalypse book, which I am not typically a fan, HOWEVER this book is an exception to all the rules I believe, and “thankfully” not a zombie in sight. I am looking forward to the next in the series though in the mean time will pick up and read her Fae Chronicles series which has also gotten stellar reviews.
