Blog Tour for A Thirty-Something Girl by Lisa M. Gott

Blog Tour:
A Thirty-Something Girl
by
Lisa M. Gott
Feb 22nd – Feb 29th

A Thirty-Something Girl follows the story of Hope. At the age of 30, she finds her life in utter shambles. Everything that could go wrong has – divorce, loss of a child, financial struggles. It is the love and unfettered support of her close friends who keep her from being lost in the quicksand of utter despair. As she slowly begins to wrap her head around who she is and what it means to be happy, she meets a man, Sam. Sam is also not a stranger to hardship and finds himself at his own crossroads. Together they find comfort and peace in one another; a soft, quiet place to fall, when the rest of the world is too hard and too noisy to inhabit.

A Thirty-Something Girl is a story about the power of human resilience, the importance of friendships, and the magic of true love. It is a story that teaches us (and reminds us) that happiness is actually a very simple concept: it is a choice. A choice we must remember to make each and every day.

Lisa M. Gott was born in Washington, DC, but found home in the heart of her husband. When she’s not weaving words, you’ll find her listening to the whispers of the wind, dancing in the rain, or curled up with a stack of books and a rich, intoxicating cup of coffee.

Her stories tell of the human spirit – sometimes sad, sometimes not – most can relate to them on some level or another.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember ... journals, poems, songs, and short stories. I'd always wanted to write a novel and started several over the years, but for some reason I could never see them through to the end.

Until Eva came along.

I was abandoned as a child, at about the age of 2 or 3 which strangely, I never gave a lot of consideration to. Then I became a mother and when my youngest son was about 2, I watched him sleeping one night, as I often did. But this night I was gripped by a heart-wrenching realization that he was about the age I was when my parents left me. Something stirred inside of me and eventually Eva was born. "Leaving Eva" began as a story of a girl who was ruthlessly abandoned, until her story took on a life of its own.

I've always been a late bloomer, but I am happy that I've finally gotten in touch with my inner author. She's always been there lying dormant, reflecting in other parts of my life but now she is awake and alive, shining through me everyday.

Writing has been an escape, a refuge, and an outlet for me throughout my life and I feel fortunate to channel my energy and creativity in this way. With two books in the Eva series and a standalone novel, I Run to You, I am currently working on a fantasy series, The Lost Children. The first book, The Forgotten, is planned for an early 2016 release.

I was accepted to publish my books with Booktrope Publishing in February of 2015 and am currently republishing my previous, as well as future work with them. I am grateful every day for the life I get to live and for all of the love and support from friends, family, and readers.

I would love to hear from you at jennifersivec@yahoo.com.

Blog Tour for Power of Three

Title: Power of Three
The novel of a whale, a woman, and an alien child
Author: Cathy Parker
Publisher: Booktrope

An alien child catapults by sheer chance to earth.

A beluga whale longs for freedom from the cruel confines of her small blue pool.

Two powerful other-worldly beings seek to plunder our world, destroying our people and our resources.

In this fast-paced, science fiction thrill ride, it falls to the fiercely independent bystander, Shannon Kendrick, attorney and seaquarium volunteer, to return the child Essi to her world. To find a way to free the desperate beluga, Juneau. To defeat the ancient aliens. On the upside, with the arrival of Essi, Shannon is startled to find not only that her physical appearance changes dramatically, but also that she now possesses useful, almost magical, traits, which will help her with insurmountable barriers.

But Shannon soon learns the most terrible threat comes from within: a bizarre lavender lightning strike has caused the minds of the beluga and child to be one with Shannon’s. Their presence consumes many more calories than Shannon can possibly take in. They are killing her.

In a desperate attempt to outrace her own death, Shannon enlists the help of her friends in battles to the death. Not everyone will survive.

And . . . who or what is the other dark force that Shannon discovers lurking in the shadows with the alien invaders?

About the Author:

Cathy Parker graduated from the Northwest Institute of Literary Arts in 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She reports that while there, aliens surprised her by wandering into her writing without invitation, thereby letting her know that her genre must be speculative fiction. She also came in contact with a wonderful community of writers and scholars that she vows she will never leave. In perhaps the seminal experience of her life, Cathy volunteered for eight years as a zoo keeper and became well acquainted with one sometimes obstreperous female beluga whale, the model for Juneau, one of the heroes of this book. Cathy holds a law degree and practiced as an attorney in both the public and private sectors for many years. She values her time as legal counsel to her city’s Fire Department above all other legal work she’s done. “Where could I find a workplace with a better mission — saving lives and property and giving comfort to the lost and hurt?” Before law she enjoyed a career in journalism, at one time the sole staff editor-reporter-photographer-columnist-and gofer for a rural newspaper in Wyoming. She climbed oil rigs and went on cattle drives, shoveled her car out of many snow banks, and calls it a grand time. Cathy is fascinated by animals of all kinds, especially cetaceans and primates, and has scrimped and saved to go see them in the far reaches of the world. She posts matters of interest on these and other topics on her website,

Downcast by Cait Reynolds

What would you do when faced with an impossible truth? Written with heart and passion, Downcast by Cait Reynolds is ripe with twists you never saw coming and love that defies the odds in this intense new Paranormal Romance retelling one of mythology’s greatest love stories.

It’s the start of Stephanie Starr’s senior year of high school, but sadly, this is no life of the prom queen. Stuck at the bottom of the high school social totem pole, Stephanie is forced by her domineering mother to wear lumpy linen dresses and eat organic tofu for lunch in a world of mini-skirts and pizza.

What Stephanie doesn’t anticipate is gorgeous and cocky Haley Smith who breaks social convention and pursues her with a determination that is both terrifying and flattering. Afraid that Haley is simply trying to set her up for massive humiliation, Stephanie does her best to push him away. But the more attention he pays to her, the more she runs, and the more everyone else begins to notice.

Instead of a loving family to support her as the mean girls make their play, Stephanie’s mother begins to unravel mentally, her possessiveness of Stephanie spiraling to new and frightening extremes. Stephanie is forced to grow up, find herself, and learn the truth about her past in order to save her mother, her friends, and her town. When the truth is revealed, nothing can prepare her for the outrageous reality of her existence…and nothing can save her from her fate.

Except Haley.
